Ohr HaTorah, led by Rav Zvi Sobolofsky and located in Bergenfield, is set to kick off a large 48-hour “Charidy” fundraising campaign for their shul expansion project. Funds raised will allow them to break ground in the near future.
Since its establishment in 2005, Ohr HaTorah has embraced growth, constantly adding to their schedule and offerings as the needs of the shul have grown with the families. What began 15 years ago as a Shabbat shul has evolved to become a full-service community, offering multiple minyanim, youth programming, sisterhood events, shiurim and family events.
“With our new building, we will be poised to better serve the 200-plus families who are part of our Ohr HaTorah community,” said Judah Eizikovitz, Ohr HaTorah president. “Though Rabbi Sobolofsky’s building is located in Bergenfield, his hashpa’ah (influence) extends beyond the walls of our shul.”
In addition to Rabbi Sobolofsky’s regular shiur as rosh yeshiva at Yeshiva University, he has thousands of listeners worldwide on YUTorah, gives shiurim regularly in Bergen County, and is a sought-after speaker throughout the surrounding areas. He is also a posek for NCSY and NCSY Kollel.
“We are so excited to take Ohr HaTorah to the next level,” said Rabbi Sobolofsky. “It is wonderful to be part of the greater Bergen County community, and we hope that our growing makom Torah will continue to be a place where everyone can come together.”
Please join Congregation Ohr HaTorah from 10 p.m. this motzei Shabbat, June 5,
until June 7 at 10 p.m. for their 48-hour campaign to help the shul continue its mission of harbatzat Torah in the community and beyond.
