Over the course of a dynamic Shabbos, Parshat Shemini, on April 14, Congregation Shomrei Torah in Fair Lawn will be hosting an eventful Nahal Haredi Shabbaton, spearheaded by Rabbi Benjamin and Shevi Yudin and Rabbi Andrew and Dr. Sara Markowitz. The goal is to raise awareness of the challenges Nahal Haredi soldiers face and to gain support for the mission of the Nahal Haredi Amuta for these soldiers who enlist voluntarily into the IDF. Every day that they don their IDF uniform they become targets, putting their lives in harm’s way. With, B”H, over 11,000 veterans/bogrim over the last 19 years since its inception, the number of vets is growing exponentially. Various networks are being established with these vets turned businessmen and professionals following their service. For example, Nahal Haredi/Netzach Yehuda, vets who are attorneys, are assisting new veterans once they have completed their service.
