Congressman Dan Goldman came to speak to Ramaz sophomores about his commitment to supporting Israel and combating antisemitism through his work in the United States government. Dan Goldman represents New York’s 10th district in the House of Representatives and was just elected for his second term. He spoke to students about how he knew it was crucial for him to speak up for Israel after October 7, and that it was more important to do the right thing—standing with Israel—than to play the “political game” and avoid upsetting those who disagree. Students asked him deep, insightful questions about his perspective on the election, the future of American politics and the rise of antisemitism on college campuses. They thanked him for his time and his advocacy on behalf of Jews and Israel, and of course, sent him home with great Ramaz swag.
