Behind 15 points from Emily Branitz and 11 points from Kristen Kush, the Connecticut Sun defeated the Dallas Wings 41-34 to capture the Season Six championship. Branitz earned the playoff MVP while Kush set the single season record of points with 144 over the eight games

Tamar Rothenberg (Noam parent), one of four players who has played in every season, finally tasted that championship feeling for the first time. Rothenberg described her feelings. “It feels so good. I couldn’t even sleep last night. We played as a team throughout the season and had great energy. The league has been a great workout and a lot of fun. That’s why I keep coming back!”

Samantha Locke, former Frisch standout and winner of the Most Improved Player Award, scored seven in the finale. Leah Gologorsky (Moriah parent) scored a key bucket in each half. Laura Interiano, winner of the Top Defender award, hit a baseline jumper to put the game away with a minute to go.

The Sun knew they were going to have their hands full with Aliza Hiller, Yavneh coach, (13 points) and Daniela Epstein, who recently become a member of the YU Hall of Fame (18 points), but they completely shut down the rest of the Dallas team. Pearl Magence (SAR staff) who was named the regular season MVP, Dan Pfefer (Yehivat He’Atid parent), Elana Mandel (RYNJ parent), and Elana Tamas (former Frisch player) all had outstanding seasons, but were held to a combined total of three points in the final.
