It was an offensive explosion on Monday night when the Frisch Cougars traveled to play the Heschel Heat. There were goals, and then some more, and then a lot more goals as Frisch dropped 15 on the Heschel Heat, who, ironically, were not so hot.
The Cougar lead scorer was Odi Haramati, who opened up his senior year with five goals. Stevie Brinn notched a hat-trick, and Jordan Socolof and David Kirsch had two goals apiece. Jonas Leavitt had his first career yeshiva hockey league goal and Rafi Selevan lead the team in assists.
All three goalies for Frisch got playing time and combined for the shutout.
Fifteen goals were the most Frisch has scored in the past four years; a nice way to open the season. The real test, though, will be Thursday night as Frisch hosts DRS. The players on this team have been waiting two years since they lost a thrilling overtime game to DRS. The seniors on the team have been knocked out of the playoffs three years in a row by DRS. Frisch is looking forward to avenge those losses. Thursday, it is sure to be a thriller.
