Cross River SINAI@RYNJ Girls Hit the Road for Chesed

The following article was written by middle school girls, members of the Givers Club at the Cross River SINAI School@RYNJ, following a trip to Chesed 24/7, an organization in New Square, New York.

The Givers Club went on their second chesed trip of the year. The middle school girls class of SINAI at RYNJ has a club which does chesed projects. The five girls and their teachers select activities to help people in the community. Students are responsible to plan, organize and execute events. Before Sukkot, they went to CareOne to make sukkah decorations with residents to hang in their sukkah. Everyone enjoyed spending time together.

On Tuesday, Nov. 8, the Givers Club packed food at the Chesed 24/7 warehouse. First, they measured and packed a variety of cereals in individual plastic containers. Next, they put Chesed 24/7 labels on the lids. Then, they put the hundreds of cereal containers on the shelves. Lastly, they packed croutons for soup. All who participated were happy to be able to help families dealing with illness.
