Following the precedent of Hakhel in the Beit Hamikdash, CYM children gathered together, royally welcoming his majesty the king to inspire Jewish pride and torah commitment. The event was spectacular! Tiny Tots held their Torahs close as everyone clapped along to Torah songs. Toddlers were called up and proudly recited Shema. Nursery children dressed as moms and dads brought their babies along. They encouraged the audience to put their arms around each other sway to the tune of “V’ahavta l’reiacha kamocha,” a song that encourages caring for every Jew. Pre-k dressed like Levites and played music with their flutes. The celebration culminated with kissing the Torah and joyful dancing. These uplifting Hakhel memories will surely be treasured!
