(Courtesy of Da’ehu) Da’ehu, as in “Know Him in all of your ways,” is a Montessori school in the process of forming in Passaic and one of its main objectives is out-of-the-box, hands-on learning. So, if you want to teach children the chemistry of how our kiddush wine is made, what better than to have the children make it themselves. Da’ehu founder and president Gershom Tave bought 180 pounds of wine grapes and soon had a large group of children and their parents up to their elbows in grapes, crushing and pressing them and straining the juice. Rabbi Tave also showed participants the equipment in which the grape juice will ferment into wine over the coming months, just in time for Purim.
