Democratic Campaign for Mayor of Harrison Launches at The Pureganic Cafe

The One Harrison Campaign for Honest Bipartisan Leadership was recently launched at the Pureganic Cafe, the town’s only kosher restaurant and the only kosher, vegan, gluten-free and organic restaurant in Westchester. The event was attended by a large crowd of supporters, including local elected officials, community leaders and residents.

The campaign’s candidates, Mark Jaffe for mayor, Helen Pesce for trustee, Zachary Sheinberg for trustee and Jackie Greer for town clerk, spoke to the crowd about their vision for the town of Harrison. They all emphasized the need for tax relief, more community participation, smart development and increased public safety.

Jaffe, an attorney, attended Benjamin Cardozo Law School and is currently the president and CEO of the Greater New York Chamber of Commerce. He grew up in Dobbs Ferry and moved to Harrison in 1990. His three children all attended the Congregation Emanu-El of Westchester religious school in Harrison, and he is a member of the Rivertown Chabad in Dobbs Ferry. Jaffe serves on the advisory boards of both the Manhattan Jewish Hall of Fame and the Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce. He is running for election because he wants to fight for the people of Harrison. “I have a proven track record of delivering results,” he said. “I will focus on family values, better managing expenditures, improving our schools, and making our streets safer.”

Pesce, a small business owner and community volunteer, said that she is running for trustee because she wants to bring a fresh perspective to the job. “I am not afraid to challenge the status quo,” she said. “I will fight for what is best for the people of Harrison, not for the special interests.”

Sheinberg, an entrepreneur and attorney, said that he is running for trustee because he wants to make Harrison a more affordable and livable town. “I am tired of seeing our town being taken advantage of by special interests,” he said. “I want to make sure that everyone in Harrison has a chance to succeed.”

Greer, the incumbent town clerk, has joined this ticket in order to team up with a group of serious and responsible officials who will help make sure Harrison improves.

The campaign’s launch was a success, and it generated excitement among Harrison voters. The three candidates are all well-known and respected in the community, and they all have a strong track record of public service. The election is scheduled for November 7, 2023, and it is sure to be a hotly contested race.
