Glaser’s style has been called reminiscent of the Nat King Cole Trio, Chet Baker, Michael, Franks, Bobby Troup and Mel Torme.
He was selected as Southern California’s Jazz Musician of the Year when he lived there. One of his earlier CDs, entitled “Don Glaser” and featuring many of his own compositions, included jazz greats Ray Brown, Bill Perkins and Shelly Manne, was designated Cash Box Magazine “Feature Pick” and received Grammy consideration. A subsequent CD, entitled “Slices of Life,” features Ted Nash and Brian Lynch. Glaser has performed with Bobby Troup and Tom Harrell. His material includes standards by George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Bud Powell, Thelonious Monk and Sonny Rollins. His own original compositions include “Strawberry Jam,” Shopping,” “Moving,” “Love,” “Teaneck, NJ,” “San Diego,” “The Cell Phone Blues,” “I Want to Go to Sleep” and “Will I Ever Grow Up.”
