The Dor L’Dor group at Congregation Ahavath Torah in Englewood will have a pre-Shavuot lunch & learn on Wednesday, May 17 at noon.
Rabbi Mordy Kuessous, associate rabbi of the Benaroya Sephardic Center at Ahavath Torah, will speak on the holiday of Shavuot. Rabbi Kuessous teaches Gemara and Halacha classes at Torah Academy of Bergen County and presents holiday related shiurim to the school community. He comes from a rich background in education, having held positions in schools and summer camps both in Israel and the United States.
Following Rabbi Kuessous’s lecture there will be musical entertainment provided by the Shirah Community Chorus. Shirah is a multi-generational blend of professional and amateur singers from the New York metropolitan area. They perform a variety of Jewish music regularly at the JCC on the Palisades in Tenafly and have been featured in many concerts in the U.S. and Israel, including Avery Fisher Hall, New York City; the NJ Performing Arts Center in Newark; the Bergen PAC Theater in Englewood; and at other venues.
