The Dor L’Dor group at Congregation Ahavath Torah, 240 Broad Avenue, Englewood will be having a pre-Shavuot Lunch & Learn on Wednesday, May 17 at noon.
Rabbi Mordy Kuessous, associate rabbi of the Benaroya Sephardic Center at Ahavath Torah, will speak on the holiday of Shavuot. Rabbi Kuessous teaches Gemara and Halacha classes at Torah Academy of Bergen County and presents holiday-related shiurim to the school community. He comes from a rich background in education, having held positions in schools and summer camps both in Israel and the United States.
Following Rabbi Kuessous’s lecture there will be musical entertainment provided by the SHIRAH Community Chorus. SHIRAH is a multi-generational blend of professional and amateur singers from the NY/NY metropolitan area conducted by Dr. Marsha Bryan Edelman. They perform a variety of Jewish music regularly at the JCC on the Palisades and have been featured in many concerts in the US and Israel, including Avery Fisher Hall, the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, the Bergen PAC Theater and other venues.
