
The Dor L’Dor group is pleased to present a program of “Sargent in Paris,” featuring a morning lecture and slide show of the exhibit presently at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manhattan, beginning at 9:45 a.m. on Monday, July 14. Coffee, cake and fruit will be provided. The lecture, at Congregation Ahavath Torah, 240 Broad Avenue, Englewood, will be given by artist Sheryl Intrator Urman of Englewood.
An option to have a guided visit at the museum with Sheryl is available following the lecture. Comfortable bus transportation will be provided. The bus will leave the Met at 3:15 p.m. to return to Englewood.
“Sargent in Paris” explores the early career of American painter John Singer Sargent from his arrival in Paris in 1874 as an 18-year-old art student through the mid 1880s when his infamous portrait of Madame X was a scandalous success at the Paris Salon.
Sheryl Intrator Urman is an artist, curator and art lecturer who has been involved in the art world for over 30 years. She has exhibited widely in the U.S. and internationally.
