Dor L’Dor to Hold Lunch & Learn and Movie on July 29

The Dor L’Dor group at Congregation Ahavath Torah, 240 Broad Avenue, Englewood, is pleased to present a Three Weeks “Lunch and Learn” program on Monday, July 29 at noon.

Rabbi Daniel Goldberg, associate rabbi at Congregation Ahavath Torah, will speak about The Three Weeks and Tisha B’Av.

A member of Ahavath Torah’s Rabbinic Team since 2017, Rabbi Goldberg is a graduate of Yeshiva College, Magna Cum Laude. He received semicha from RIETS and holds an MA in Bible from YU’s Bernard Revel Graduate School of Jewish Studies and has completed his coursework towards a PhD in Bible, focusing on medieval Biblical interpretation. He has participated in graduate fellowships from the Wexner Foundation, AIPAC, the UJA-Federation and the Zahava and Moshael Straus Center for Torah and Western Thought. He is also the recipient of the RIETS Emerging Leadership Award.

Following the lecture, the film “Blessed is the Match: The Story of Hannah Senesh” will be shown. It is a moving memorial that brings to life the Holocaust heroine, Hannah Senesh through interviews with Holocaust historians, eyewitness accounts from those on the rescue operation as well as in the prison, rare family photographs and the writings of Hannah and her mother. The film recreates Hannah’s perilous and heartbreaking mission, reconstructs her defiant months in the Gestapo prison and looks back on her life. (Run time: 1hr 26 min)
