(Courtesy of Bruriah High School) Bruriah High School for Girls has announced the appointment of Dr. Bethany Strulowitz as assistant principal. Dr. Strulowitz joins the school’s new principal, Esther Eisenman, and the rest of the Bruriah staff in reaffirming the school’s rich legacy and commitment to building an even stronger future for generations of Bruriah students.
“Dr. Strulowitz is an excellent educator, talented professional and incredible role model for our girls,” declared Eisenman. “Her passion for Torah and ability to infuse joy, happiness and purpose into yiddishkeit and learning fits Bruriah perfectly. Dr. Strulowitz’ advanced academic training and wealth of leadership experience make her an ideal partner in serving our students and building an even stronger Bruriah.”
Over her two decades in Jewish education, Strulowitz previously served as a teacher, faculty leader and director at Yeshiva Beis Hillel of Passaic; as a Judaic studies teacher at Manhattan Day School, where she mentored other faculty members and initiated several innovative programs, and as a teacher and student mentor at Beren High School in Houston, Texas.
Strulowitz joins the Bruriah family from Yeshivah of Flatbush, where she now serves on the senior administrative team as the director of campus life, overseeing student learning and fostering student growth through creating a positive school culture. Strulowitz trains teachers in areas of engaging academics, responsive teaching, positive discipline and strengths-based learning. In addition, she works closely with parents to establish a strong and collaborative parent-school partnership that cultivates dialogue between school and home for the benefit of the students.
“I am excited to be joining the Bruriah family,” said Strulowitz. “Around the world, Bruriah students are known for their love of Torah, commitment to academic excellence, respect for one another and passion for serving their communities. It is an honor to be joining a team of dedicated and talented professionals committed to strengthening Bruriah’s ideals and imparting them to the next generation,” she said.
Strulowitz earned her doctorate in educational leadership and innovation at Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education, where she studied student motivation and spirituality in high school students. She also serves as the chinuch director and camp rebbetzin of Camp Maor, an all-girls performing arts sleepaway camp in the Poconos, where she blends Torah with social-emotional learning. She lives with her husband and five children in Passaic.
