An informational program on “Dreaming of a Good Night’s Sleep: How You Can Help Yourself,” for Holocaust survivors and their caregivers will take place on Monday, June 5, from 6:30 p.m.-8 p.m. The program will be presented by Jewish Family Service of Central NJ nurse Kathleen McMahon, EdM, MA, RN. A light dinner will be served. Dietary laws observed.
Many older adults develop sleep problems as they age. They may begin to have a harder time falling asleep, and start waking up more often during the night and earlier in the morning. There’s lots of time in bed tossing and turning, resulting in daytime exhaustion. A restful night may become a thing of the past. In this presentation, McMahon will discuss strategies toward achieving that longed-for good night’s sleep.
McMahon is a seasoned registered nurse who has experience working in both hospital and community health nurse settings. She was instrumental in implementing the JFS Care Transitions program with Trinitas Regional Medical Center and Holy Redeemer.
The presentation is funded by a grant for the JFNA Center for Advancing Holocaust Survivor Care and the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest Holocaust Survivor Fund as part of a series of programs for family caregivers.
Registration is recommended if you plan to attend. To register or for more information, please contact [email protected] or call 908-352-8375.
