This year’s annual I. David and Miriam Goldstein Teshuva Lecture will take place at Cong. Ohr Torah in Edison on Sunday, Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. The featured speaker will be Rabbi Shay Schachter, associate rabbi and rosh beit midrash at the Young Israel of Woodmere in New York. His topic will be “Internalizing the Message: Looking Beyond Ourselves.” The community is invited to this inspiring evening in preparation for the Yomim Noraim.
Since the summer of 2017 Schachter has also served as the rabbi of Camp Simcha, Chai Lifeline’s camp for children battling cancer and chronic illnesses. He also serves as the rabbi of Yachad. He previously served as the assistant rabbi at Cong. Knesseth Israel (The White Shul) in Far Rockaway, New York. He has semicha from both his father, Rabbi Herschel Schachter, and Rav Asher Weiss.
