On page 56 this week, we are pleased to present a new column based in dialogue, launched by the Rabbinical Council of America and Barkai, envisioned by Teaneck's Rabbi Chaim Strauchler of Rinat Yisrael, and Israel's Rabbi David Fine, founder and dean of the Barkai Center for Practical Rabbinics and Community Development. This week we feature Rabbi Strauchler and Rabbi Fine's introduction of the column, which seeks to find middle ground and establish useful discourse in challenges faced by the rabbinate in the U.S. and Israel. Next week we will feature the first official column, featuring Rabbi Tuvia Brander and Rabbi Yoni Lavi, in coversation. The column will also be printed concurrently in Israel as part of Arutz Sheva's weekly Hebrew-language publication.
