In a championship game that was close throughout, EJ’s Place defeated Center for Dermatology 25-24. The game was defensive with at least 16 combined blocked shots recorded. In the first half, the teams were feeling each other out. Center for Dermatology was led by scoring from Alexa Bromberg, Hannah Bromberg and Sydney Weinblut. Ayelet Motechin and Amanda Pomerantz scored for EJ’s Place. At the half, the score was 8-6 in favor of Center for Dermatology.

In the second half of the game, the scoring and intensity picked up, and the packed house of family and friends cheered loudly for both teams.

During the third and early fourth periods, Center for Dermatology was led by Aliza Wiederkehr’s quick 6 points, including a 3-point play. But EJ’s responded with 8 points from Motechin and 4 points from Annabel Silverman, ending the fourth period trailing by a point.

In the final period, Center for Dermatology’s Weinblut scored 4 of her team high 12 points, while EJ’s Place was led by baskets and clutch free throws from Silverman, Motechin and Pomerantz. This secured their victory and the championship title.

Pomerantz ended with 5 points, Silverman with 6 and game MVP Motechin ended with the game high 14 points. Coaches, sponsors and families showed great leadership and support, and the girls played an excellent game and a fabulous season.
