Families with children traveling on EL AL Israel Airlines roundtrip from New York (JFK/Newark) this summer are in for a sky-high treat with the introduction of the airline’s specialized “ELALCHIK” program. During this month and August, 40 select flights on the New York/Tel Aviv route will provide entertaining activities, fun giveaways and take-home memories for all children onboard, enhancing the flight experience for the entire family.
The adventure begins with a designated ELALCHIK flight attendant greeting children at the aircraft door, introducing them to the in-flight activities and presenting each child with a surprise gift or toy. During the flight, the crew unveils a
variety of activities, including a themed sketching contest, a make-up and photographer corner as well as a riddle competition published in the EL AL in-flight magazine called Atmosphere.
Select children will be nominated as DAYALCHIKS, who are dedicated helpers wearing special aprons while assisting the in-fl ight crew. DAYALCHIKS help distribute drawing materials and passenger forms as well as collect earphones, giving them a sneak peek into the world of aviation. Children who are flying during their birthday week are invited to visit the cockpit, subject to the approval of the Captain, and receive a unique souvenir card.

Games for boys and girls from 3 to 11 years old, including airport and destination stickers, soft puzzles and 3D puzzles are also distributed. Children can also enjoy a wide variety of specially selected in flight entertainment, such as the summer’s
hottest hits as well as instant family classics such as The Jungle Book, Finding Nemo, The Lego Movie and Cars.
In addition to the 40 New York flights, the ELALCHIK service is offered on another 40 fl ights from Tel Aviv to Paris, London and Amsterdam.
ELALCHIK travelers departing New York (JFK/Newark) can take advantage of the airline’s family-friendly $1,299 fare (which includes all taxes and carrier-imposed surcharges). A coveted children’s fare with savings of at least $200 for each child over the age of 2 and under 14 is also available.
