Because customers arrive at the service counters of car rental agencies at Ben Gurion Airport after long and tiring journeys (long flight, new time zone, baggage collection), Eldan, the car rental agency, has launched a new time-saving service–Eldan Expressway–which allows people to deplane, collect their baggage and go directly to their rental vehicles, without having to wait at a counter. This fast and efficient process is based on integrated technology. Reservations are made on Eldan’s website, and details about the pick-up point of the vehicle are texted to the customers’ cell phones. The rental contract is filled out on a tablet with no need for a print-out.
Eldan’s branch at Ben-Gurion Airport is the company’s largest. Travelers using Eldan at Ben-Gurion make up 50% of Eldan’s Ben-Gurion clientele. Most come from the United States and Europe. Some are Israelis living abroad who are returning to Israel for a home visit. The branch is open 24/7, and closed on Yom Kippur. The rest are locals from neighborhoods surrounding the airport, like Elad.
Recently the privately held company was granted the Israel franchise for Enterprise, the largest car rental company in the world. Eldan is one of Israel’s leading leasing and rental companies. Its fleet has tens of thousands of vehicles and hundreds of employees. Eldan is also active in operational leasing of vehicles; car rentals in Israel and abroad; the sale of used vehicles; vehicle sales via private-leasing, including new vehicles; vehicle and property insurance; and hotel management in Jerusalem and Paris. Eldan’s owner is Yossi Dahan and the company is managed jointly by Shai Dahan, CEO of Vehicles, and Momi Dahan, CEO of Hotels and Real Estate.
