Elected Officials Visit Fair Lawn Jewish Day Camp

On Friday, the annual group photo of Fair Lawn Jewish Day Camp, under the auspices of Bris Avrohom Fair Lawn, was taken with the campers, staff and Bergen County elected officials taking part. The Fair Lawn Jewish Day Camp consists of 250 campers as well as many staff members, bli ayin hara, who come from 30 different towns in Bergen County. The children enjoy an amazing camp experience with daily swimming, trips three times a week, many overnight trips and hot lunches. The children are provided with maximum enjoyment as well as relaxation by their trained and dedicated counselors under the leadership of Rabbi Mendel and Elky Zaltzman.

The camp opened 12 years ago with just 50 campers and grew remarkably to become a very successful and educational camp.

The majority of the children are not yet attending Jewish day schools, and the camp gives them an opportunity to learn and explore all the Jewish holidays both in theory and with tangible arts and crafts. They also learn the alef-bais and brachos, and above all, they receive a strong sense of Jewish pride. Rabbi Mendel and Elky Zaltzman, along with the devoted staff, give the children daily support and love of Yiddishkeit.

The elected officials of Bergen County took the effort to attend the photo session and presented proclamations in honor of the camp.
