Emunah, which was born through the tireless efforts of visionary women in Israel in 1935, will pay tribute to “Empowering Women” at its Spring Luncheon on May 24 at the Prince George Ballroom in New York City.
“We are fortunate to have the opportunity to recognize role models, women who are successful professionals, supporters of Jewish life and tradition and are actively involved in supporting Israel,” says Karen Spitalnick, Emunah National President. “Emunah began as a women’s organization, and it is appropriate for us to recognize a select group of accomplished women today who are an inspiration, encouraging other women to reach their full potential.”
Two of the honorees herald from Bergen County: Gila Kolb from Englewood, Registrar and Associate Director of Admissions at SAR High School, and Tamar Rothenberg from Teaneck, the Senior Vice President of Marketing for Extell Development Company. The three other honorees are: Bari Lynn Erber, from Manhattan, president and founder of Bari Lynn—a well-known accessories business; Daniella M. Muller from Great Neck, NY, a Senior Attorney at Herrick Feinstein, LLP in the firm’s employment law group and Michal Lara Weinstein from Woodmere, NY, owner of MLWDESIGN, a graphic design firm and co-founder and CEO of Couture for a Cause.
Lea J. Goldman from Teaneck, Executive Editor of Marie Claire, will be the keynote speaker. The Luncheon Chairmen are Susan Nadritch, Lisa Schechter and Deena Segal.
Long active in empowering women in Israel, Emunah is instrumental in protecting women’s rights in the Jewish State. Emunah operates programs for women in business, offering leadership lectures and networking opportunities, and prepares the next generation of empowered women in Israel. This is in addition to its four award-winning girls’ high schools and College of Art for young women. Emunah also operates crisis centers open to women in distress.
The organization, with its 250 social welfare and educational programs across Israel, strives to improve the life of each child, family and senior citizen in Israel. Emunah was recently recognized by Naftali Bennett, Israel’s Minister of Education, who stated: “Emunah combines the professionalism of a hi-tech firm, the single-mindedness of a commando unit and the dedication of a mother.”
Proceeds from the event will support Emunah’s girls’ educational and vocational high schools and its college for young women in Israel. The event will also feature high-end raffle packages.
