Englewood—Englewood Hospital and Medical Center was recently honored as one of Health Care’s “Most Wired” hospitals and health systems of 2014. The recognition was granted based on the results of the 16th annual Most Wired Survey, sponsored by the Hospitals & Health Network. The survey evaluates the advances hospitals make in information technology (IT) across four categories: infrastructure, business and administrative management, clinical quality and safety, and care continuum.
Over the past five years EHMC’s Information Technology Department has adapted new and innovative systems and procedures to provide accurate and timely medical information to patients and physicians, allowing the medical staff to make the most informed decisions about treatments and increasing patient safety. The Medical Center’s IT Department also ensures information is communicated swiftly and efficiently between departments and medical staff.
EHMC’s advanced electronic medical records system and the recently launched online Patient Portal exemplify the tremendous strides the Medical Center has taken to create a cohesive and transparent system to facilitate communications among patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers. These initiatives reflect the Medical Center’s ongoing commitment to continually upgrade its systems in support of its mission to provide the highest quality care in a compassionate environment.
