Bris Avrohom Receives Joint Resolution for Work With Russian Jewish Community
Assemblywoman Annette Quijano visited Bris Avrohom, Hillside, along with her chief of staff, Shane Derris. She met with Rabbi Mordechai Kanelsky, Executive Director; Mrs. Shterney Kanelsky, Associate Director; Rabbi Dovid Wilansky, Administrator and Rabbi Baruch Lepkivker, Program Director. Assemblywoman Quijano presented Bris Avrohom with a Joint Resolution for their outstanding work with the Russian Jewish Community in the State of New Jersey by providing programs on education for young and old, assisting in life cycle events and having holiday gatherings. They also discussed joint programs to further assist the Russian Jewish Community in New Jersey.
Cookie Bake Planned in West Orange on Good Deeds Day
Good Deeds Day, an annual worldwide celebration of helping others, is on April 10 this year. In honor of Good Deeds Day, Jewish Family Service of MetroWest in conjunction with Congregation AABJ&D in West Orange and the RSVP Center of Essex and Hudson Counties is sponsoring a community cookie bake to benefit older adult clients of Jewish Family Service of MetroWest. Cookie dough is being generously donated by the Jewish Community Housing Corporation.
Please join us from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Congregation AABJ&D, at 700 Pleasant Valley Way in West Orange. Families are welcome to attend and art projects will be available for younger children. JRA Day Coming to MetroWest JCC
The Jewish Relief Agency of NJ MetroWest will be holding its monthly packing and delivery day on Sunday, April 10 at the JCC of MetroWest.
