JFS Plans Free Job Seeker Workshop
Jewish Family Service of Central NJ, a non-sectarian health and social service agency, and Temple Sholom will be hosting three free Job Seeker Workshops titled “New Year, New Job, New You,” on Thursday mornings, January 12 and 19, 10 a.m.-12 p.m., at Temple Sholom, 1925 Lake Avenue, Scotch Plains, NJ.
The workshop on January 12 will concentrate on “Resumes: One Size Doesn’t Fit All” and the January 19 workshop is titled, “Creating an Online Presence With Social Media—Featuring LinkedIn.”
The workshops will be presented by Sheri Brown, JFS Career Specialist and Career Coach who will focus on job-search skills and strategies. Ms. Brown, who initiated the Job-Seeker Program at JFS in 2009, has worked with over 750 clients in both individual and group settings. She utilizes her unique knowledge of recruitment and human resources combined with her training skills to help job seekers navigate the current job market.

Upcoming Events at the Union Y
Sunday, January 8: Annual Raffle Gala begins at 6:30 p.m. Honorees will include the Kirshenbaum family, Lee & Rachie Niren and Bryan Fox. Tickets are $100 per person. The evening will include prizes, entertainment and a full catered meal.
Sunday, January 15: Swing Band Dance with “Full Count Big Band” will be held 1-3 p.m., co-sponsored with NCJW. The event is free to seniors and children. No RSVP is necessary.
Wednesday, January 18: Adult Winter Luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m. Entertainment will include David Aaron, jazz musician. The cost is $8/$5 members. Reservations are suggested. A full-course meal will be served.
