I recently read your article in The Jewish Link regarding The Bayit Association (“Bayit Association of NJ is Born!” March 31 2022), and I really connected and felt inspired by the efforts you described in ensuring that you are able to help others. If possible, I would truly like to visit your office or one of your community homes in-person sometime in the near future, COVID permitting, and learn more information about The Bayit Association.
In your article, you describe that the population you mostly intend to cater to is those with special-needs and I certainly commend you on that. I myself am knowledgeable of the diversity of the special-needs population and I also believe that (1) enabling and/or having open dialogue on the subject of special needs is beneficial to the special-needs community and that (2) creating a plan and then taking action to implement that plan is the best way to effect change and benefit others.
As I am sure you know, modern healthcare standards use the DSM-V to help identify and diagnose functional disabilities, which are often defined as being on a spectrum, and that the ultimate goal of diagnosing is to then implement interventions. After reading your article, I am confident that The Bayit Association will help individuals who are part of the
special-needs population live independently and with respect and dignity.
If I may be so bold, your aspirations to grow The Bayit Association ought to be applied on a universal scale, especially as it certainly reflects on the larger need for these types of services for all peoples, of all walks of life, in all communities! I am confident that The Bayit Association will be successful and will ultimately help raise awareness for the overall need for these integrated services elsewhere.
