It was disturbing to read Hillary Goldberg’s commentary (“Rising Above the Betrayal,”

August 15, 2024) as she segued from the October 7 massacre to Donald Trump as the boogeyman. Sadly, she has bought into the fake media hysteria of Trump as the devil just as much as the left has bought into the false narrative of Israel as the aggressor.

The press, whose role should be as a watchdog for all the citizens of this country, has become the promoter and protector of the left.

You can’t have a free country without a free and independent press.
