Father-Son Football Game at Shaarei Orah Is a Win for Everyone

On Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend, Shaarei Orah, The Sephardic Congregation of Teaneck, hosted a fathers (Jets) vs. sons (Giants) flag football game, accompanied by a tailgating party, with its rabbi, Rabbi Haim Jachter, as the Jets quarterback! The camaraderie and spirit were palpable and, although the competition was intense, it was far from the point of the game! In fact, after the game, not one person asked for the score (spoiler alert: Giants beat Jets 14-13) as that seemed to have been irrelevant. The point was to celebrate precious, healthy and good old-fashioned fun together as a community and to be thankful for one another. Shaarei Orah is most grateful to Erica Goldberg for arranging these fun events. For more information about sisterhood events at Shaarei Orah please contact [email protected]. Shaarei Orah is located at 1425 Essex Road in Teaneck.
