Teaneck – The scoring touch continued and FC Teaneck enjoyed another strong weekend on the field in Northern Counties Soccer Association play with two wins and a draw. The newly-created club ended its second week of the fall season with five wins and a draw after eight games played, having outscored its opponentn by 16 goals, 35-19.
Demi Owens scored three goals and Galil Neuer contributed a fourth as the U9 Girls cruised past Secaucus with a 4-2 victory on Sunday at the Votee Sportsplex, giving the team its second consecutive win.
The U11 Girls team overcame a two-goal deficit at the Sportsplex to earn a draw, 2-2, against Sportsfriends of Wayne. Keira Kepets put FC Teaneck on the board with her first goal of the season and Margaret Schneider notched the equalizer.
FC Teaneck’s U14 Boys fell victim to a late free-kick goal and dropped a heartbreaking decision in Glen Ridge, 5-4. Gabriel Einhorn and Ben Shore each contributed a pair of goals in the team’s first game of the season on Sunday.
The U11 Boys Fire team, one of two FC Teaneck U11 squads competing in the Northern Counties league this fall, sailed to victory, 8-4, over Americans SC in Ho-Ho-Kus on Monday night. Abie Goldberger, Eli Knapp, and Aiden Einhorn combined to provide the scoring in the team’s first game of the season.
Developed by Teaneck Junior Soccer League exclusively for Teaneck residents, FC Teaneck is a competitive travel team that competes year-round and plays its home games at the Votee Sportsplex. The club currently has seven teams, and will hold tryouts for new players and additional teams in October.
