First Virtual Jewish Book Fair Goes Live

(Courtesy of The Book Meshuggenahs) For the first time, schools and families across the country can order Jewish books in a virtual book fair launched by The Book Meshuggenahs, a group of 18 award-winning Jewish children’s authors.

The Book Meshuggenahs’ mission is to be a resource for teachers, librarians and parents by sharing quality, diverse Jewish children’s literature and educational materials.

“There’s never been a one-stop-shop for Jewish themed and character-driven books, but we’ve changed that,” said the fair’s organizer, Karen Rostoker-Gruber, New Jersey-based author of 16 award-winning, traditionally published children’s books. “Virtual book fairs are more important than ever because of the pandemic. All order taking is virtual.” An online special events bookseller called Author, Author! is handling sales.

To join the book fair, email [email protected]. Order forms will be sent with live links to order a wide variety of books about Jewish holidays, life, history and culture. The books are organized by reading level from kindergarten through eighth grade and include both fiction and nonfiction. Books will be shipped directly to schools for free. A home delivery option is also available for a fee.
