The summer camp program at the Union Y, located at 501 Green Lane in Union, began with a much larger-than-expected number of children: close to 480 campers, ages three to 15 have joined one of the 10 different divisions. The largest camp, Chaverim, under the direction of Rabbi Yisroel Rich, enjoys Jewish learning, sports clinics, swim, trips, art, yoga (girls), Krav Maga (boys), nature, and cooking, just to name a few. A catered nutritious lunch is included daily. Facilities boast two swimming pools, acres of both wooded and grassy private campgrounds, indoor air-conditioned rooms, a double-size padded gymnasium, basketball and tetherball courts, softball fields and hockey arenas. The campers enjoyed a welcome back concert from Lenny Solomon (Shlock Rock)—a great kick-off to the summer. The second session, begins July 23rd.
