(Courtesy of JFNNJ) The Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey held another event in a series of Legislative Advocacy programs on Tuesday, June 18, at Assemblyman Pedro Mejilla of New Jersey’s 32nd legislative district.
Members of the Jewish Community Relations Committee of Jewish Federation advocated on behalf of concerns and interests that are especially relevant to the community; among which are the rise in incidents of hate and bias both close to home and across the nation. The group explored ways to address the issue including educational solutions as well as the need for greater security at places of worship, schools, and public institutions.
Also discussed were ways to meet the needs of the poor and the aging in the community, as well as the need for the increase in trade and technology cooperation between Israel and New Jersey.
The Jewish Community Relations Committee of the Jewish Federation holds in person meetings with public officials on an ongoing basis.
