Federation Offers Community-Wide Day of Service

Join the community on Sunday, March 19 for a day of hands-on service experiences to address real needs throughout Greater MetroWest. CommUNITY Mitzvah Day is an opportunity to put Jewish values of tikkun olam and tzedakah into action, making a real impact on the lives of others. Activities for volunteers of all ages–both in-person and at-home–are available.

Opportunities include creating and filling packages of kosher-for-Passover food to benefit local community members and clients of Jewish Family Service of Central and MetroWest NJ, helping document historic Jewish cemeteries in Newark to preserve our community’s rich history, paying it forward by creating bags of essential items for those experiencing homelessness, and so much more.

“CommUNITY Mitzvah Day is an event my family and I look forward to every year!” said Elana Wilf Tanzman, Federation’s Center for Volunteerism chair. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to come together and make a meaningful impact on the lives of others.”

CommUNITY Mitzvah Day programs will take place at locations across the Greater MetroWest community, and throughout the day on Sunday, March 19. Visit jfedgmw.org/mitzvah-day for more information and to register. Questions? Contact [email protected].
