Federation Offers Complimentary High Holiday Tickets for Newcomers

MetroPass, a collaborative program between Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ and area synagogues, provides qualified newcomers to our community—or to synagogue life—with complimentary High Holiday tickets. In its eighth year, this program is designed to lower the barriers of entry and to encourage Jewish people in Greater MetroWest (including Essex, Morris, Union, Sussex and parts of Somerset counties) to participate in Jewish life.

This year 44 synagogues, covering every geographical area and denomination, are participating in the program. The application process includes a series of questions to help identify the best match for each individual or family looking for a place to worship.

“This program has been very successful over the years,” said Federation’s Manager of Synagogue Initiatives Sarah Segal. “Last year, 150 families requested tickets from 37 different synagogues. The program enables people in the community who are not yet members of synagogues to experience the High Holidays at a synagogue that fits their needs. It’s a win-win. Families and individuals explore new places to worship and synagogues identify prospective new congregants.”

The request form for MetroPass tickets is available at www.jfedgmw.org/metropass until August 31, 2018. For more information contact Sarah Segal at [email protected] or 973-929-2952.
