The JEC Lower School’s final erev Shabbat tish of the year was enhanced last week by, none other than, RTMA Principal Rabbi Ami Neuman, who Lower School Principal Rabbi Uzi Beer described as “growth driven” and “an excellent example of true leadership.” Rabbi Neuman shared with students an impactful message about Jewish pride and the true story of a young man named Barry.
Rabbis Beer and Neuman also led students in a guitar-accompanied kumzitz with some of the most popular tunes of the year, and of course, Rabbi Beer’s famous cholent was served and enjoyed by everyone—students and faculty alike! It was beautiful to witness how over the course of the year, students became more engaged in the tish, and how last Friday, with arms linked, they sang, swayed and ate together in unity and joy—truly a beautiful way to usher in Shabbat.
