On May 6, Teaneck will host its first-ever 5K race, sponsored by the Teaneck Organization for Public Schools, to help fund technology programs for the students of Teaneck schools. The 5K Race has been fully certified and sanctioned by US Track & Field. There will also be a one-mile Color Fun Run so that children and families of all ages and abilities can participate.
Bronwyn Tobin, a Teaneck resident and mother of Teaneck public schools students, said “I think it’s a great cause and I am really looking forward to participating! I think it’s a fantastic way to get the community together, and to help the kids, of course. We’ve got such a great community of people here in Teaneck, it’s nice to have an event that can bring so many together.”
The Teaneck Organization for Public Schools, founded in 1991, has raised over $100,000 to support the students of the Teaneck Public Schools by providing extra funding to enrich educational programming and to purchase educational materials and resources. The Teaneck 5K is an official USATF sanctioned and timed race.
All proceeds to go to the Teaneck public schools.
Runners, walkers, wheelchairs or strollers… all levels of participation welcome.
