The Englewood Police Department has reported that five people were arrested for riot and disorderly conduct in front of the Englewood municipal building on Tuesday, October 24. According to the press release, over 600 people gathered outside of an Englewood Council meeting to protest a resolution that was passed in support of Israel.
The crowd on Tuesday evening was mainly composed of a large, pre-planned pro-Palestinian rally, and a “heated exchange” ensued with the pro-Israel gathering for over two hours, according to Englewood Police. A total of five people were arrested during this incident, notably not from the Englewood township:
- Mamoon Rabah of Wayne, NJ (riot and disorderly conduct)
- Mazen Habib of North Bergen, NJ (riot, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest)
- Rabee Owda of Paterson, NJ (riot, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest)
- Shahin Habiebh of Paterson, NJ (riot and disorderly conduct)
- Mustafa Tbaileh of Irvington, NJ (riot and disorderly conduct)
