Following Hamas’ terror attacks in Israel, Fordham Park resident Jeff Stark felt compelled to help. He felt limited in his ability to help from his desk, so he purchased 33 pounds of over-the-counter medications—including blood pressure, steroids and diabetes medication—and flew to Israel, where he hand-delivered them to Yad Sarah’s Community Pharmacy, which distributed the medications to those in need.
Yad Sarah is Israel’s largest volunteer-led service organization, with more than 7,000 volunteers operating across over 120 branches to lend medical equipment, facilitate healthcare and homecare, and support the elderly and victims of domestic violence, among other projects.
“Israel needs our help now more than ever before,” Stark said. “It’s different to be here with boots on the ground providing much-needed medicines, transporting supplies, picking vegetables and helping the people of Israel.”
In addition to his donation, Jeff is volunteering at Yad Sarah’s repair shop and will deliver critical supplies and transportation to the people of Israel.
