Flying Colors Outlet Store Soars Into Teaneck

Imagine what shopping could be like if Off Fifth (the outlet division of Saks Fifth Avenue) carried clothing catering to modest fashion. That idea is now a reality in Teaneck, with Flying Colors Outlet opening its doors, offering designer children’s apparel at reduced prices.

When Faigy Segal first opened Flying Colors in 2008, it was solely an online store. Over time as customers returned each season in search of the unique styles found at Flying Colors, Segal continued to provide fresh and new designer fashion and business continued to grow.

“Our impeccable taste, unmatched customer service, as well as demands from our customers helped us establish what Flying Colors needed—an actual storefront where our customers would be able to shop in person and feel our positive vibes,” said Segal on her website. This past summer, that need was filled with the grand opening of their children’s clothing boutique in Lakewood, New Jersey.

The Flying Colors team goes almost “to the ends of the earth” to find its customers the one-of-a-kind fashion for which it has become known. Twice a year they look through fashions from Italy, Paris, New York and other fashion capitals to bring colorful and à-la-mode clothing to kids of all ages.

Though the flagship store is located in Lakewood, Flying Colors recently opened an outlet store on Queen Anne Road in Teaneck. “The clothing in our Teaneck store will still be high-end designer apparel,” said Segal. “The only difference is that it will be from a past season, and will be as much as 70 percent off.” Carrying sizes from toddlers all the way up through teens, Flying Colors is stocked by Segal, who enjoys scouting out the perfect outfit for any age and customer, but particularly enjoys helping preteens and teens find their perfect look.

“It’s always so difficult to shop for teens,” Segal said. “Their interests in fashion are not always aligned with what their parents want. We try to find something that works for both.” It is with this goal in mind that Flying Colors Outlet store carries an extended selection of teen sizes.

“One of the things I enjoy about the store is the personal touch we can bring as we get to know our customers,” Segal said. “Often when I look for new styles, I have the specific needs and interests of my customers in mind and will even pick things out because of them.”

In addition to teen fashion, Flying Colors and Flying Colors Outlet have complete layette options, toddler sizes, youth sizes and many options of boys pants including Appaman and Crew Kids. Because all brands can fit children differently, Segal also makes sure to find clothing that caters to all children, so that everyone can find something that fits comfortably and makes them happy with how they look.

Flying Colors Outlet is located at 576 Queen Anne Road in Teaneck and is open Monday through Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. as well as Sunday evenings 8:00 to 10:00 P.M.. If someone needs alternative times, appointments are available by calling 646-981-3532. “We are known for our customer service and quality merchandise, and look forward to bringing the experience into the Teaneck area,” Segal said. “Teaneck is getting gorgeous handpicked clothing and great brands at discount prices.”
