I was disappointed you chose to publish David Deutsch’s “Twenty-Seven Days in Gaza: A Soldier’s Perspective on the Israel-Hamas War” (December 21, 2023) piece in last week’s publication. The article focuses heavily on a particular soldier’s conflicted attitude towards the suffering of ordinary Gazans, where he oftentimes needs to remind himself of the justification Israel was at war.

Suffering of any human is terrible, and 90% of the world media has taken to focus on the suffering in Gaza and attribute it to Israel and not Hamas, which started this war and hides behind the civilians.

The Jewish Link should continue being a confident voice supporting Israel, the IDF and our college students.
