Under New Ownership, Yalla Teaneck Expands Menu

Yalla Teaneck, a Middle Eastern restaurant on West Englewood Avenue, is under new management and is now offering premier catering services for all types of events. Owner Jacob Goldberg, a seasoned chef and caterer, has already started adding to both the menu and the vibe.

Goldberg has worked with many of the kosher catering companies in the tri-state area, including Foremost-Ram Caterers from 2002-2011. He also served as the primary chef for The Legends Hospitality Kosher Division at Yankee Stadium for 10 years, where he was responsible for premium clubs and kosher catering events; and has managed restaurants in Deal and Brooklyn throughout his 20-plus years in the industry.

Goldberg is excited about this new venture and the opportunity to add his personal touch to Yalla. Serving up fine Mediterranean cuisine, he has already introduced a few specialties to the menu, including a boneless rib steak and an Israeli burger, which have quickly become customer favorites. The lamb-shoulder shawarma is another mouthwatering bestseller that customers say is hard to resist.

Since taking the reins, Goldberg has extended the restaurant’s hours, now open weekdays from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Saturday night after Shabbat until 11 p.m. He has also created a socially distanced outdoor seating area, equipped with lights and heaters, for a pleasant and COVID-safe dining experience.

Yalla is quickly gaining popularity, not only in Teaneck, but in neighboring communities like Passaic/Clifton as well. Goldberg is happy to deliver to other areas of Northern New Jersey and will waive the delivery fee for larger orders. He is also working with delivery services like Uber Eats, Grubhub and DoorDash.

Goldberg will continue to expand the menu, adding new items on a regular basis. The guacamole and matbucha have been popular additions to the fresh salad bar and his chimichurri sauce is a must-have. Goldberg welcomes customer requests and will modify anything on the menu if wanted. “For me it’s all about customer satisfaction,” he said, and humbly added that once people taste the food he is sure they will come back for more.

Goldberg plans to develop the Yalla catering business as well. He believes his extensive background in catering will enable him to provide a unique style for any occasion big or small. “I have done everything from dinner parties and Passover trips to destination weddings,” he said, and he is excited to work with clients in the Bergen County area.

Event catering has long been a personal favorite for Goldberg, who enjoys helping people create a unique and memorable experience. As your caterer, he will always provide options that work for you and promises a beautiful and delicious spread.

Goldberg lives in Fair Lawn with his wife and two children, and is looking forward to getting to know his local customers. For more information please visit www.yallateaneck.com or on Instagram @YallaTeaneck.
