Fort Lee—Over 5,500 people participated in the fourth annual Run for the Fallen at Fort Lee on May 3 honoring those who have lost their lives in service to America. The run was inspired by a 2008 run from Fort Irwin, CA to Arlington National Cemetery; the number of miles in the 2008 run approximately matched the number of lives lost in the War on Terror at that point in time. The May 3rd run had both one- and five-mile courses to be walked or run. At last year’s run, over 3,200 participants collectively ran more than 10,000 miles. The men and women who gave their lives so that we can live in freedom included people from all walks of life, including Jews.
