On Tuesday, May 25, TCA students showed off their creativity and hosted their parents in an outdoor poetry cafe. Acrostics, rhyming couplets, limericks and haikus, were among the types of poetry shared. Over the course of the year the fourth graders studied a variety of poetry types and then wrote their own original pieces. They used new vocabulary words, perfected their understanding of syllables and parts of speech and developed their voice as creative writers. The evening included a showcase of their state projects, in which the children were able to teach their parents interesting and important facts about the United States. What a special way to end the year!
