The Yeshivat Frisch Athletics program held its first tennis tournament of the year on May 5, at Brookdale Tennis Center, with 24 students participating. With no tennis yeshiva league operating this spring, the tournament was open exclusively to Frisch students. Congratulations to Jacob Feit ’23, who won the boys’ tournament, and Jackie Carter ’24, who won the girls’!
“Sports in general is an extremely important learning tool for students,” said Frisch Athletics Director Aron Coren. “We are trying to do whatever it takes so that our students won’t miss out on this opportunity.”
Cougars were grateful to hit the courts. “I was so thankful to have the opportunity to play against so many talented players,” said Feit.
This year, in addition to tennis—and with safety precautions in place—Frisch ran four basketball teams, two floor hockey teams, wrestling, girls’ swim, boys’ and girls’ ice hockey, lacrosse, fencing and cross country/track. Currently, the baseball and softball seasons are in full swing, and outdoor basketball games will soon begin.
