Frisch Boys Varsity Soccer Champs

Defensemen Jeremy Hikind and Justin Hod led the team to victory with a solid score of 8-4. Cougar goalie, junior Tyler Hod, frustrated the North Shore Stars in the first quarter by blocking all their shots except for one. Frisch came out strong in the second quarter by shutting down North Shore and scoring two goals of its own.

In the third quarter, Frisch pulled ahead by scoring one more goal. The Stars matched Frisch’s intensity and the score quickly became tied, 3-3. Frisch scored yet again and finished the quarter in the lead with a score of 4-3.

Frisch was now one quarter away from winning the title. But North Shore player Josh Cohen opened up with a powerful goal to tie the game. The crowd went crazy as both teams anxiously anticipated a victory. But the Frisch players were determined to win and continued their aggressive play by scoring four unanswered times. Moments later, the buzzer sounded and the game was over. Frisch had won the championship!

Looking back, so much has happened over the season. The Cougars began the season with a rocky start and with the team lacking captains and direction. As the team became more cohesive, it won its first two games. Frisch continued on a successful path, winning all of its games except for two games against TABC. The regular season ended with Frisch receiving the #4 seed in the playoffs. Before long, the #4 seed became the #1 champions.
