Frisch has always been known as a school with strong sports teams; this year’s girls’ varsity soccer team is no exception. Finishing the regular season with a perfect record of 8-0, the team is psyched to continue its winning ways in the playoffs. This team is excited to start the next phase of defending their title of reigning champions.
The Cougars finished the regular season defeating a talented Kushner team on Sunday May 5th. Kushner was the only team to beat the Cougars during last year’s championship run, so this win was a big one, and they won big (6-1).
With the veteran leadership of captains Lauren Tuch and Carly Reinhart, the players have become dedicated to the team. With just 11 members, everyone has something to bring to the table as many of the players play both offense and defense, helping better the team in whichever ways they can.
Coach John Iozzia and assistant coach of two years Erin Mullins have surely been great influences and teachers. They help perfect the team’s dribbling, shooting, and passing in ways that none of the team thought imaginable. And the proof of their efforts has been the team’s record of success.
