After five months of intense practices, teamwork, and determination, the Frisch Girls Varsity Soccer team brought home the championship trophy in a thrilling 5-1 victory over the well matched team from SKA.
The energy in the gym was electric from the moment both teams arrived. With fans filling the bleachers, the Frisch Cougars and SKA Sonics took to the court for warmups—nerves were high, adrenaline was pumping, and the anticipation was fearsome.
The first half was a defensive battle, with both teams testing the goalies but unable to finish. The crowd stayed on the edge of their seats as shot after shot came close, but the scoreboard remained untouched.
That all changed just two minutes into the second half, when Adi Bieler took advantage of a key moment—SKA’s goalie came out of the net, and Bieler stayed composed, slipping the ball cleanly down the middle to put Frisch on the board. The crowd erupted, and the Cougars rode that momentum with confidence.
Moments later, Maayan Gellis powered a strike into the top left corner of the net, extending the lead to 2-0. The gym shook with cheers as Frisch found their rhythm. Before the end of the third quarter, Bria Toledano added to the excitement, launching another shot into the left corner, ending the third with Frisch comfortably ahead, 3-0.
Entering the fourth quarter with fire and focus, Frisch wasn’t done yet. Just minutes in, Toledano returned with another powerful goal—this one straight down the middle—pushing the lead to 4-0. Though SKA remained fierce and determined, with their #14 Herman managing to slip past the defense and score their first goal, Frisch answered right back.
Tamar Feldman dribbled down the court with control and confidence, finding an open look on goal and calmly finishing to secure the final score at 5-1.
The final buzzer marked more than a win—it marked the climax of months of dedication, drive, and team unity. Frisch players embraced, tears and smiles filling the court. It was a true team effort, but special recognition was given to Maayan Gellis, who was named the game’s Most Valuable Player.
None of it would have been possible without the leadership and coaching of Ryan Adeleye, who has guided the team every step of the way.
Frisch Girls Varsity Soccer are your champions—and they earned every second of it!
