Frisch Ice Hockey Battles Back to Erase 5-1 Deficit

Despite a shaky start and a five goal performance from West Orange standout Dave Campbell, the Cougars were able to stage another big comeback to earn a 6-6 tie at Mackay Park, in Englewood, this past Sunday evening. With a bit of a depleted blue line, Frisch opened the scoring on a Noah Petak goal, but yielded the next five goals of the contest to the visiting West Orange High School team. The comeback started in the second period with two quick goals by Jake Fromen, 46 seconds apart, assisted by Petak, with the first coming on a power play. Shortly thereafter (1:14), Aryeh Bloom struck off a two on one with Fromen to cut the lead to one. Petak tied the game at five, with 1:51 left, before the second intermission. Campbell scored his fifth with a little over six minutes left, but Jack Margolius took a nice feed across from Fromen to tie the game at six—and that is how it ended.

Fromen finished with two goals and two assists, Petak had two goals and three assists, Margolius a goal and two assists with Judah Volodarsky picking up an assist. The two teams meet again on January 28 at Codey Arena in West Orange.
