This past Sunday, the Frisch JV girls basketball team faced off against Flatbush. The Cougars went into the game confidently, having won their past two games.
The game started out with the Cougars winning the tip and Orli Scharf making an early layup on a fast-break. Thanks to strong assists and buckets from Atara Forman, Talia Lowe, Sarah Silver and Maya Wahrhaftig, Frisch was able to secure a substantial first quarter lead. During the second quarter, however, Flatbush began to push back. Through strong defense and made baskets, they were able to bring the score up to 16-10, Frisch.
After a motivating half-time speech from Coach Jade Walker, the JV Cougars were able to come back into the game stronger than ever. With points from Blimi Farkas, Eliana Fisher, Gaby Hoffer and Tamar Feldman, the Cougars got the score up to 32-10 in the third quarter alone, showing just how persistent they are. Frisch held on to their lead and never looked back, ending the game with a final score of 47-13 Frisch, thanks to the help of Sophie Cohen, Evelyn Fried, Shaina Geisler, Ava Katz, Izzy Nadritch, Ally Weber and the rest of the team. Congratulations to Frisch on a great and well-deserved win, and good job to Flatbush too!
